Vital Heat
Vital Heat restores core body temperature during and after surgery, when body temperature typically drops to 94 degrees. The patient’s hand is placed on a hot plate inside a 1psi vacuum chamber. Within 15 minutes this combination of heat and low pressure elevates core body temperature back to normal. Vital Heat offers a smaller, less expensive, and more effective alternative to the traditional hot air blanket. Whipsaw provided all design and engineering for the system, which received FDA approval in 2005.
