Whipsaw created Gateway’s 2002 to 2004 product line. Sleek, iconic, and techy, it ushered in a new era of high design for Gateway, which helped it compete with Dell and HP. It also helped Gateway climb out of the dot com bust. Customers and press loved the design. Stephen Bigelow of Business Week said “The system is one of the most stylish and powerful we’ve seen”. Millions of units were sold during this time, with sales reaching $3.4 billion by 2003.
