In the dynamic landscape of cosmetic treatments, Hydrafacial introduces Syndeo, a cutting-edge platform set to revolutionize hydradermabrasion. Through this system, patients can receive a popular non-invasive cosmetic procedure that deep cleans and conditions facial skin. Starting in 2020, Whipsaw partnered with Hydrafacial to redesign their flagship system from the ground up. This collaborative effort extended beyond mere aesthetics, encompassing a thorough overhaul of the machine, handheld components, and digital interface. Syndeo emerges not only as a cosmetic tool but as a testament to the intersection of technology and beauty.

Three-in-one technology

Syndeo is the first instrument to cover all crucial aspects of a facial treatment with three-in-one technology by extracting, exfoliating, and treating the skin with serums all at once. During a treatment session, a series of proprietary serums are dispensed through a handpiece that is gently guided over the patient’s skin by a trained esthetician. This process flushes out pores, and the used serum, dead skin cells, oils, and impurities are vacuumed into a collection bin. The device features a touch display for procedure navigation and pressure control as well as illuminated treatment formula bottles as a primary focal element. The layout of components provides users with visual clues at each step, with all elements easily in reach. The device offers a digital experience that displays the status and benefits of each step of a treatment. Through a tailored sequence, estheticians can perform thorough treatments based on saved patient profiles with preferences.

How Form Inspires Trust

Syndeo is a skin health and beauty treatment, so the machine aesthetics needed to be beautiful to inspire and build trust. The grand gesture is a monolithic slab form with an angled body that appears to pierce through it, presenting an angled tray surface for serum vials and handpiece tips. Under the tray are four bottles that contain formulas for different stages of the treatment, which become the focus as they hang freely in front of a backlit panel.

At the top of the slab resides the touch display, camera, and gesture control sensors. The gloss black facade allows the touch display to integrate seamlessly. The use of metallic silver for both the tray and rear housing helps enforce the illusion of the form piercing through the slab, while also creating a high contrast and premium feel. On the rear side of the slab is storage for key elements including a dock for the light therapy device. The left side has a scooped-out section to house the “Gunkie Bin” for the flushed-out dead skin and impurities. This tank is removable and has light from the underside to highlight the blackheads and toxins that came out. The edges of the slab have holsters for the handpiece, and lymphatic tubes, and provide a feature to neatly gather excess tubing.

Syndeo is available to experience at select dermatology offices, beauty spas, and skin care facilities.
