Whipsaw Wins Two 2026 IDEA Awards from IDSA

Whipsaw has won two 2026 International Design Excellence Awards. The Industrial Designers Society of America (IDSA) recognized Reef Track with a bronze award in Sports, Leisure & Recreation and Gridstack with a silver award in Consumer Technology, and named Takano a finalist.

IDEA evaluates designs from around the world on innovation, aesthetics, accessibility, and societal impact. For over 45 years, the program has recognized the most significant achievements in industrial design and elevated the work that shapes lives, industries, and global innovation.

Reef Track: Bronze in Sports, Leisure & Recreation

Reef Track is a first-of-its-kind dive navigation platform. Even the most experienced divers can experience moments of disorientation below the surface, undermining confidence and pulling attention away from the dive itself. Reef Track addresses this core challenge by instilling clarity and trust at every stage of the experience, from pre-dive planning to in-water navigation and post-dive reflection. We partnered with DG TAKANO to design the Melior Faucet, a bold reimagining of the modern kitchen fixture powered by Bubble90—an advanced nozzle that cuts water use by 80% without compromising performance. With a stripped-down, sculptural form and a magnetic ball joint for fluid movement, the Melior Faucet blends sustainability, flexibility, and industrial elegance.
